Now is a good time for Brian F. McNamee, Ward 6 City Councilor to Apologize to the Quincy Asian Community for his ignorant and hateful remarks! |

Well we now have just passed the Nov. Election here in Quincy and unlike many third world countries ( and second world countries too for that matter) we had no visible public violence that I saw other than the odd "sign ripping & tearing down" of scruffy young hooligans. What a delight! It is too bad tho that the weather seemed to keep turnout so low. I was holding my sign for Jimmy Liang all day in the rain - I almost felt I might grow roots outside Atlantic Middle School, and later The Knights of Columbus, as I was waving my sign for all to see. The election this year was really the most fun and hard work of any election I have personally experienced. My Candidates grass roots organization did a fabulous job going up against the political machine of that Mayor Failing (Ooops!) put at the disposal of Brian ( our venerable opponent). Even tho Jimmy Liang lost this election in his first race against Brian ...

I have added a new Video Gallery to QuincyMass.com. The system allows for the categorization and playing of video clips. I will be adding additional Quincy video to the library over the comming weeks. Check out some of the videos. If you know Quincy at all you will recognize all the locations. I think that this is a great addition to the website. I also upgraded the Photo Gallery with a new module. It has some great features. It looks like a great photo gallery. I have added the historical photo album to the system as a test. It looks good. I will try and load the rest of my photo albums to the website soon.

With the Red Sox winning their 7th World Series title in 2007 it's a great time being a sports fan in Quincy these days. With our professional teams in the region winning championships on fairly regular basis. It's great because for how great our teams our now Red Sox, New England Patriots our rivals in New York our experiencing the exact opposite of misery.
Great job Red Sox! Do it again in 2008!

Now that the site has been put togther in the new environment its time to shift attention to building content for the new engine. Except for user feedback module. I will be adding this to some of the existing modules. It will allow users to comment on stories, links or any othe content. User of this site should watch for more content in each of the current sections. I will also be adding new sports tickets for Boston Red Sox and New Engalnd Patriots games. We will have all the games.

I have opened the new user registration again. It was closed due to a quota setting that was set to low. QuincyMass.com has well over 800 members and the user quota was exceeded. I have removed the user quota and new members may now sign up again.

I have been busy putting together some of the pieces of the new QuincyMass.com, I have configured the My Quincy Space section and created a basic demo. I tested it and seems impressive. I have seen some great pages made with the technology. I'm really excited to be able to offer all this new functionality to the users.
Speaking of the users. I have transferred all the members from the old portal into the new system. If you are a current user your existing user id and password are still valid.
Plenty more remains to be done stay tuned.
