Well we now have just passed the Nov. Election here in Quincy and unlike many third world countries ( and second world countries too for that matter) we had no visible public violence that I saw other than the odd "sign ripping & tearing down" of scruffy young hooligans.
What a delight! It is too bad tho that the weather seemed to keep turnout so low. I was holding my sign for Jimmy Liang all day in the rain - I almost felt I might grow roots outside Atlantic Middle School, and later The Knights of Columbus, as I was waving my sign for all to see.
The election this year was really the most fun and hard work of any election I have personally experienced. My Candidates grass roots organization did a fabulous job going up against the political machine of that Mayor Failing (Ooops!) put at the disposal of Brian ( our venerable opponent). Even tho Jimmy Liang lost this election in his first race against Brian , I don't have any reason to believe that the voters won't be willing to give him more consideration next time around, especially now that people have seen him in action against Brian.
Brian did well for himself with his negative ads, however everyone saw that Jimmy Liang was a classy opponent who refused to stoop to the low means employed by Brian. I believe as Quincy and Ward Six gets to see Brian in his second Term that they will realize the mistake they made in giving him continued employment.
The Mayors Machine will not be with you next time Brian. Now considering that you must work with a community that knows you despise them ,it would be a good move on your part to apologize for the ignorant and hateful remarks you made against the Quincy Asian Community during the past year.
Don't believe that all the bad things you mouthed in Quincy City Council have been erased from the minds and memories of the city's Chinese Families, who you are supposedly claiming to represent as you claimed at the Asian Republicans of Massachusetts show and tell in Cathay Pacific.
It would be truly best if Brian F. McNamee, Ward 6 City Councilor would condemm the hate speech and attacks against Quincy's Chinese association in Wollaston with a publicly visible and verbal apology for his own prejudiced attack on the Chinese United Association Headquarters USA / Chinese Federated Association.
In my entire lifetime I have never expected to see a city councilor who was elected to guardian the rights of his constituents instead go on the attack against the very people among his community whose welfare he should have been protecting.
Indeed as Hyphenated-American who knows that Any American is is protected by The Constitution of the Federal Republic of these United States I find it repulsive to think that any city councilor believes any of his constituents are the wrong kind of Americans as Brian F. McNamee, Ward 6 city councilor said of the families from the Association in Wollaston Center.
It is time for Brian F. McNamee, Ward 6 city councilor ,Quincy Massachusetts, to apologize for his hate speech against American Chinese, now that he has secured his office for the next two years.
